 Slow cooked chicken and mixed vegetables

Just came back after visiting my home. Hence needless to say food tourism was on top of the menu 🙂

Over the years most of my blogs were focused on cooking things within an hour max. In my trip back home, I realized that I have almost never tried slow cooking.


Hence now on wards some of the posts would be based around this experiment 🙂

Starting with …

  • Heat some oil
  • Add some mustard seeds and let them pop
  • Add chopped onions, garlic and ginger
  • Saute till the volume of the onions reduce by half
  • Add dry raisins and chopped eggplants
  • Saute till the eggplants become soft
  • Add tomatoes, Chicken drumsticks and mushrooms
  • Mix well
  • Add turmeric, coriander powder, garam masala, mixed herbs, sugar and salt to taste
  • Mix well again
  • Heat the mixture for 10 min
  • Add 3 cups of water
  • Cover the mixture and heat on a slow flame or low heat for about 30-40 min
  • Add some butter
  • Heat for another 5 min after stirring
